One the easiest of all the props to learn, but becomes more challenging as you advance with it.

Learn a unique style of staff spinning that blends the high energy of martial arts techniques with the skillful precision of fire dancing.  Our style emphasizes the ability to turn, whirl and spin the body while keeping the staff in motion.  Advanced classes include contact staff, creative throws and coordinated footwork with techniques.  Staff is often a crowd pleaser if you incorporate a lot of body motion in harmony with your spin.

Advantages:  Easy to begin with, excellent blend of speed and size, good for dancers and movement artists, many different styles, safer than many fire props. 

Disadvantages: Requires "out of box" thinking to keep it advancing, contact work can be very difficult, can be seen as a "common" prop 
 

Verdict:  Learn staff if you are looking for a prop that is easy to pick up and whirl away.  This often brings quick results in the beginning but a much slower advanced learning curve.  The fire staff has an advantage of being one of the most adaptable movement props for dancers and martial artists.
